BAPS Evelina National Training Day 24th-25th November
A report from Hemanshoo Thakkar, Trips Rep
This was a one and a half day programme run at the Evelina Children’s Hospital attended by 46 trainees.
Day 1 focussed on clinical skills with delegates rotating through Ultrasound Guided PICC line insertion, Airway Assessment and bronchoscopy, Laparoscopic skills including advanced haptic simulation and Endosonography with Anorectal Manometry.
Dinner was arranged at Las Iguanas Restaurant, Royal Festival Hall Waterloo.
On Day 2 we moved onto interactive cased based discussions and videos discussing operative techniques. Included in the day was also a session on the applications of 3D printing in paediatric surgery which was very well received.
The feedback we received from the training day was extremely positive.
Our next national training day will be hosted by Nottingham Children’s Hospital on 2nd-3rd March, 2017.
